To quote David Korten, “Our future depends on finding a story that gives us a powerful reason to live.” I want to write that story.
I am an Australian-based researcher and writer reporting on the frontline of food and farming issues. My expertise lies in telling stories that delve into the hidden fabric of our food system: exploring the ways food is produced, distributed, exchanged and consumed and its impacts on the environment, global health, communities and culture.
My work has been published by prominent food, environmental and human rights organisations, including Civil Eats, Food First, Food Tank, Sustainable Food Trust and the United Nations Association of Australia and republished in the leading environmental media and news outlets Eater, EcoWatch, YES! Magazine and Alternet.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to food justice and promoting solutions that pave the way for ecologically sustainable and socially just societies. I profile environmental and agricultural leaders, advocate for life-enhancing farming methods and amplify the voices of community-based movements and organizations working to effect change in the food system.
I acknowledge the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and community. I pay my respects to them and their cultures, and to Elders both past, present and emerging.
