The Sydney Environment Institute, FoodLab Sydney and the University of Sydney Union have partnered with YARN Australia to bring together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander with non-Indigenous communities for an evening of ceremony, performance, meaningful conversation and the sharing of food and stories.
Through the prism of food and the format of a yarn, communities across Sydney are invited to participate in a cross-cultural and meaningful conversation about inclusivity at this NAIDOC week event. We explore the following questions: what does an inclusive food community involve and what are some inhibitors and enablers of such communities? What can you do to create a more inclusive food community in the neighbourhoods in which you work, live and play? How do these concepts of inclusivity relate to the wider food justice and environmental justice movements?
